Steve Kimpton began driving on track in 2005, primarily behind the wheel of a Lotus Elise at Lime Rock Park and Monticello Motor Club on the East Coast. Understanding the value of professional coaching, through the years Steve has developed his driving skills to a high level and in May of 2017 he was one of only three US drivers to be invited to compete in the Jaguar Simola Hillclimb in Knysna, South Africa, one of the premier events on their annual motorsports calendar, driving a Ford Performance V8 Masters Mustang. He returned to drive the same car in 2018 and 2019, also wheeling a Lotus Europa in the accompanying classic car event.
In addition to hillclimbing, Steve has successfully competed in sprint and endurance racing, driving both open wheel and GT cars, is a part time instructor with the Radford Racing School and is certified by the Motorsport Safety Academy.
With a background in engineering, Steve built his first SportsCar after he left university and has spent his spare time restoring classic English roadsters over the years. When he retired from his first career as a consultant, he built a Lotus 7 style track car, which he still races to this day.
Along with his racing, Steve has also provided driver and instructional services for Bentley and McLaren.
