A Founder and Pro Driver at Track Rekord, he leverages 24+ years of auto racing and testing, automotive development, automotive marketing and management, automotive driving events, coaching, precision driving and high-performance driving experience. At the core of his dedicated service is a desire to offer quality yet personalized high-performance driver education and training to promote track safety while sharing his love for the track with fellow enthusiasts, both seasoned and upcoming.
While others might think Kai is a reflection or an echo of days past, having been born into a racing family and as the son of two-time World Superstox Champion and former factory BMW Touring Car ace Geoff Goddard, Kai has proven himself through his exceptional car control and technical knowledge. His extensive background in racing has seen him traverse numerous competitions, from SCCA Formula Vee, Improved Touring Car and American Sedan to Factory Stocks, Short Track Racing, PBOC Racing, NASA Pro Racing, Best in the Desert and World Racing League competition.
Kai’s longevity and track record within the industry are a testament to his deep sense of adventure and determination to take on new challenges, which further complement his competitive nature. Some of his noteworthy races and a true test of his dexterity and endurance include when he raced in the USAF 25 Hours of Thunderhill in 2005, 2010, 2011 and 2013; as well as competing in the Jaguar Simola Hillclimb in Knysna, South Africa, in May of 2017, 2018 and 2019, with his vehicle of choice being a Ford Performance V8 Masters Mustang. Moreover, Kai has competed in the Best in the Desert 2017 Tonopah 250 and the 2018 Mint 400 behind the wheel of a TrophyLite race truck. For 2022, he joined W2W Racing and Barnes Enterprises behind the wheel of a Porsche 718 GT4 Clubsport and competed with The Chandler School behind the wheel of a BMW M2 CS R, racing in the World Racing League. For 2023, he joins Thunder Bunny Racing and Barnes Enterprises behind the wheel of a Porsche 718 GT4 Clubsport, competing in select World Racing League races.
Remarkably versatile, Kai is also passionate about coaching and imparting his wealth of knowledge to others and believes it to be a worthy investment for the future. His instructing experience includes working with US military Tier 1 units, KGM, Skip Barber Driving School, SCCA National, Radford Racing School, Porsche Club of America, Ferrari Club of America, BMW Car Club of America, Chevrolet Rev It Up, Pure McLaren and the Mercedes AMG Driving Academy.
Furthermore, Kai has worked with auto industry heavyweights such as Maserati, McLaren, Spyker, Ferrari, Lexus LFA and IS F, Dodge SRT, Cadillac V Series, Audi, Chevrolet, Corvette, Mercedes AMG, Ford, Mazda, Porsche and Toyota, among many other brands, in marketing and driving events, press reveals, stunt shows, live performance driving demonstrations, hot laps and film.
